Nr. Vosborg

Nr. Vosborg is one of the few very well preserved manor houses in the western part of Jutland Denmark. Newly opened May 2008 we are ready to welcome you for meetings, conferences, seminars, stays, parties and overnight accommodations.
At Nr. Vosborg you will have a many cultural experience. E.g. a concert, a ballet or a theatre can be part of your stay at Nr. Vosborg.

At Nr. Vosborg 56 completely renovated double rooms are ready to welcome you. The rooms are in different categories and 5 of these are suites. All rooms are newly furnished and the design is inspired by Nordic and Italian style. Access to patio/balcony from most rooms. All rooms are equipped with free wireless internet access, possibility to make coffee and tea and a B&O flat screen television. At Nr. Vosborg you will also find a multi room with a capacity to host 280 persons, to party rooms with a capacity to host 140 persons each and a Great Hall and living rooms in the manor house. You will also find 5 smaller meeting rooms. In all rooms free wireless internet access. As standard AV-equipment you will find overhead, flip-over, whiteboard and a projector.

In "Ide Lange Huset" you will find a restaurant with room for app. 90 persons. Our kitchen is based on a modern Danish/Scandinavian cuisine. All dishes are prepared from the beginning using only the best and preferably local ingredients. A dinner at Nørre Vosborg will be an experience and a journey into the art of cooking. We present a new a la carte every month. In summer time you can enjoy your meal on our outside patio (if the weather allows it).

Park/garden: A nice park surrounds Nr. Vosborg. An old moat surrounds the old manor house.
Patio: From almost all rooms at Nr. Vosborg you will find access to own patio or balcony.
Running tracks: The surroundings at Nr. Vosborg invite you for a lovely run. Plan your own trip and explore the surroundings while exercising.
Walking tracks: Around Nr. Vosborg you will find many possibilities for a walk. Take a walk and you will experience how you will be inspired by the nature.
Water (sea, lakes etc.): Nr. Vosborg is situated between the sea and the moors of Jutland. Close by the West coast - the rough and inspiring coast of Denmark.

Nr. Vosborg dates back app. 700 years. The first writings about Nr. Vosborg are from 1299 telling about a manor house named Osborg. Os means ending of creek. The manor house Osborg was at that time placed by "Old creek" - a bit closer to Nissum Fjord than presently. Over time many familes have owned Nr. Vosborg manor house. Niels Bugge was the first owner written about. He was one of the leading persons in Jutland and he was killed in 1359. The prediction that "a man from North West in a blue cloak will make the tower tilt" was from Niels Bugges time. In 1532 the predition came true as a storm flood almost ruined the manor house. The manor house moved to its new place in 1552 when Knus Gyldenstjerne owned the premisses. Of other owner we can mention: Linde Leth (1707-1778) and Tang familiy (1783-1946).

In 1859 (from July 5th to July 20th) Hans Christian Andersen lived at Nr. Vosborg. In one of the stories by Hans Christian Andersen it can be seen that he was inspired by the telling of Peder Tang about the trip to Husby Klit.
