Sophienberg Castle comprises 30 rooms and 8 meeting rooms. All 30 newly renovated rooms are large and can be used as double rooms. We can accommodate up to 100 persons in the conference hall and have more large group rooms. All meeting rooms are lit by plenty of day light and have a view of either Øresund or our park.
The kitchen of Sophienberg Castle has a good reputation. Our menu changes frequently and according to fresh products of the season. We are inspired by the kitchen of other countries - especially Italy and France.

Forest: Sophienberg Castles is situated close to Kokkedal Forest.
Golf: Sophienberg Castles is situated within walking distance to Kokkedal Golfclub.
Park/garden: Sophienberg Castle has its own park.
Patio: Sophienberg Castle has chairs and tables for your convenience and pleasure in the park/garden.
Running tracks: The surroundings at Sophienberg Castle invite you for a lovely run. Plan your own trip and explore the surroundings while exercising.
Walking tracks: Sophienberg Castle has beautiful walking tracks starting right outside your room - we offer to prepare a picnic that you can bring along.
Water (sea, lakes etc.): Sohienberg Castle is situated on a hill above Strandvejen by Rungsted Kyst giving a splendid view across Øresund to Hven & Sweden. Team events can be arranged on Øresund e.g. a sailing trip to Hven or a kayak experience.
History
The queen of Chr. VI Sophie Magdalene was the idea person behind Sophienberg Castle. She let the castle build for excursions for the royal family.
The castle was built by Nicolai Egtved and was inaugurated in 1744. Numerous owners of Sophienberg Castle have appeared through the years - 19 in total comprising royal, noble and civil persons.
End of 1980 a total renovation was carried out and 2 new pavilions rise, however, inspired by original plans.
Sophienberg Castle is owned by Hotel- og Konferencegruppen Nordsjælland. Today, a professional conference centre with all modern facilities is run.
In every corner of the castle you feel the history as the unique feeling of Sophienberg has survived the period of time.

Sophienberg Castle is situated north of Copenhagen. Take E47 northbound (Helsingørmotorvejen). Take exit no. 9 Hørsholm C and continue the route through Hørsholm and Rungsted (route 207). I the traffic light by Rungsted Harbour you take a left turn and follow Strandvejen. This road (Strandvejen) you keep on in app. 1,5 km northbound. Sophienberg Castle will appear on your left hand side.
