History
App. 100 years ago - in 1910 - Vindeholme was built in the parvifolious lime tree forest, 15 km south of Nakskov on Western Lolland. In 1891 Rudbjerggaard and the land had been bought by Count Ludwig Reventlow. His brother Count Ferdinand Reventlow, who had served as an international diplomat, wanted to find a special place to retire. As he could not find a suitable place he bought part of Rudbjerggaard from his brother.

Count Ferdinand Reventlow chose to build behind the dike and the castle was built by architect H.C. Amberg. Despite Count Ferdinand's normal humble life style, the castle was built beautiful. It was his wish to have a view over the Baltic Sea from the living rooms at beletage. Today, Vindeholme Castle is owned by Gustav von Rosen, stepson of Einar Reventlow, who is a grand-nephew of Ferdinand Reventlow.
